The Summer ’06 Think Tank Program

The Think Tank program is designed to facilitate collaboration by small groups of faculty with a shared interest in an academic need or problem.

Participants must commit to a week of collaborative activity, preferably on campus (9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday through Friday or the equivalent).

The program is project-oriented and must result in a substantial product—for instance, a new course or courses, a detailed assessment plan, or a curricular revision.    A  report demonstrating significant progress will be due at the conclusion of the week;   a final report will be due once the project is completed (no later than the end of the calendar year).

Think Tank projects must be congruent with the goals of the Title III Leadership in Learning program.   Funding is competitive and projects will be judged on the coherence and comprehensiveness of the plan as well as feasibility, relevance, and impact as assessed by the Title III Steering Committee.

Supplementary funding to support stipends for outside facilitators may be available in some circumstances.    However,  awarding of any funds is dependent on available grant monies and a minimum level of quality in the applications.

Please complete and submit your application by campus mail to Barbara Schleppenbach.

The deadline is May 1.
