Quincy University’s Title III-A Leadership in Learning project is a five-year focused effort to enhance student success and retention through strategic improvements to the learning environment.

 

The project includes the following elements:

· A Learning Resource Center for tutoring and Supplemental Instruction;

· A Teaching and Learning lab to support faculty in the use of instructional technology;

· Multimedia “smart” classrooms;

· The assistance of an Instructional Technology Coordinator;

· The QUEST and Project ReNew programs for academic support of students;

· The STEP advisement program;

· The services of the Office of Learning and Teaching.

 

The Office of Learning and Teaching provides the following resources and assistance to members of the QU faculty:

 

· A year-long orientation program for new faculty

· Workshops on a variety of topics

· A lending library of books, journals, and multimedia

· Informal face-to-face and on-line discussion groups

· Individual consultation including classroom observation, class videotaping, planning and interpretation of course assessment instruments.

Funding for targeted training or academic planning

 

· Tech Camps offer a week of instruction and guided completion of projects involving instructional technology. (Follow the link for an application form.)

                                 

· Think Tanks provide stipends for consultants and for faculty participation in planning activities related to the improvement of teaching and learning.  (Follow the link for a full description and an application form.)

 

Funding for individual projects through the Community of Practice program

 

· Up to five faculty members participate each semester in a Community of Practice involving the completion of individual projects related to the goals of Title III.  Follow the link above for a full description and an application form.)

 

· Archive of completed Community of Practice projects.

· Directory of QU Teaching and Learning Leaders.

 

· Additional resources on topics related to the improvement of learning and teaching.
